This was my lunch box meal made one morning .
Mornings – preparing the lunch box and packing them …making things run fast so that I catch on with some morning exercise too.. weekday mornings are a run-run ..Yet this morning I managed to capture this mutton kheema 🙂
It was Mutton Kheema and kerala paratha for lunch …And I felt so hungry cooking it that I had it for breakfast too 😐
Mutton in this recipe is Goat Meat and Kheema means the minced meat.

Recipe
Ingredients Used?
1/2 kg goat meat minced
1 tsp turmeric powder divided
1 1/2 tsp red chilli powder or as per your taste
1/4 tsp my homemade non-veg garam masala
2 tsp ginger garlic paste (preferably homemade) divided
coriander with its stems and leaves separated
1 tsp coriander powder
1/4 tsp cumin powder
1” cinnamon stick
1/2 tsp cumin seeds
2 cloves
2 green cardamom
3/4th cup onion finely chopped
1 handful curry leaves
Salt to taste
How I Prepared It?
In a pressure cooker add the minced goat meat, curry leaves, 1/2 tsp turmeric powder, chopped coriander stems, 1/4th cup onions, cinnamon stick, 1 tsp ginger garlic paste, salt to taste and 1/4th cup water. Pressure cook it upto 3-4 whistles ( this time also depends on your pressure cooker). After this is done just remove the curry leaves from it. The curry leaves gives a lovely flavour and aroma to the meat.
Heat oil in nonstick pan add cumin seeds, cloves cardamom. Then add the onions and salt and saute till its golden brown. Mix in turmeric powder, ginger garlic paste then the coriander powder, cumin powder and red chilli powder and saute.
(At this point if you add some creamy yoghurt and cashew paste, it will adde some taste and texture to the Kheema. Well, without it my kheema still was awesome. I skipped it ‘coz I didnt have either of it that morning .)
Add the cooked kheema to it, garam masala powder and season with salt if needed . Cover and cook for 5 mins.
Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and serve:)
