Creamy Matar Paneer …. :) Prepared without Cream

Simple and a different take on making this very popular Indian dish –  Matar Paneer.

I could get the creamy texture and also the taste to this gravy without adding cream to it..:)  A simple and different way of making the gravy, once more, its my own innovation… 🙂

So here’s how I prepared it at home…

Recipe

Ingredients Used?

200 gms Paneer
100 gms Frozen Peas
2 onions
2-3 cashew nuts
1 inch ginger
1 green chilli
1 tsp jeera

12 inch stick of cinnamom
2-3 green cardamom
A pinch of turmeric powder
12 tsp red chilli powder or as per taste

12 tsp Kitchen King Masala
2 pinch of homemade garam masala
13rd cup milk
Salt as per taste
Oil

How I Prepared It?

Heat some water in a pan. Cover and boil the onions alongwith cashewnuts, till onions are partly cooked. In another pan roast with little oil roast ginger, green chilli, jeera, saha jeera, kalmi and  green cardamom. Grind these roasted spices alongwith onions and cashewnuts to a fine paste. This should smell good.
In the same pan, saute the paneer cubes (adding oil is not required) and set it aside.

Then take oil again in the same pan add the paste, to it add turmeric powder, red chilli powder and coriander powder, kitchen king masala and some of the homemade garam masala. Add Salt and cook this on a very low heat for 5-10 mins. Add the matar(frozen peas) then cover and cook for another 5 mins on low heat.

Take 13cup milk and 12 cup water just bring this to boil and add it to the matar n masala.
Keep stirring it..till it simmers for 2 mins then add paneer cubes and cook for another 1min.

Thats it..  🙂 Enjoy this dish with some ChapatisBread or Rice
